Q: What is Clear Bra?
A:
Clear bra is a clear urethane film, primarily
pre-cut using computer software, which can be
applied to most surfaces and leading edges of
your car, truck, motorcycle, or recreational
vehicle.
It serves to protect
surfaces from unsightly chips and abrasions from
rocks and other road debris, which allows your
vehicle or boat’s flawless paint finish to shine
through while providing a virtually invisible
barrier.
Q: Why
use 3M / VentureShield vs. other products?
A:
ClearBraNJ uses paint
protection products manufactured by industry
leader 3M (including Ventureshield), using an
indestructible eight mil thick (.008") clear
urethane film with adhesive backing.
Their products are
optically clear and guaranteed for 5 years
against yellowing or cracking.
The advantages of these
products include:
1.
Will NOT yellow or crack
2.
Products are primarily
computer cut, so there is no risk of damaging
your clearcoat or paint by cutting on surfaces
3.
Superior gloss and paint
protection vs. our competitors’ products
4.
Contains no UV inhibitors
so your paint will match if the film is ever
removed
These films are used and
approved by major automotive manufacturers such
as Ferrari, GM, Ford, Porsche, VW and Nissan to
withstand freezing temperatures, and protect
against extreme heat, oils and gasoline, in
addition to stones and other abrasive elements.
Q: Can it be removed?
A:
Yes. It can be removed easily and will not
damage the factory paint.
Q: Will it really stop
rocks from chipping the front of my car?
A:
Yes.
The material will
prevent paint chips and abrasions by allowing
rocks, stones, and other road debris to simply
bounce off your car without leaving a mark.
This will keep your
paint looking brand new.
Q: Can I see a line where
the paint protection film stops?
A:
Yes.
Although there will
be a visible line on the surface(s) where
applied, it will be virtually undetectable.
This is a small
compromise for the superior protection it
provides.
Also, consider that
drawback compared to an unsightly leather hood
bra and/or bug shield/deflector
Q: How long will it last?
When will I have to replace the kit?
A:
Clear Bra is covered under manufacturer warranty
for five (5) years against yellowing and
cracking.
Additionally, as a
certified installer, ClearBraNJ will cover the
installation for up to 2 years. While the
average life of the film is between five (5) and
eight (8) years, it will only look as good as
the clearcoat underneath it and the paint finish
of the surfaces around it.
Q: What if my car has been
repainted?
A: The
film can be applied to repainted surfaces as
easily as factory painted surfaces.
However, neither the manufacturer nor ClearBraNJ
express any guarantee that there will not be
damage to the paint underneath the film if and
when it is removed.
Q: How is the kit applied?
Do you spray it on?
A: We
receive the material in rolls. Our computer
software, along with our other equipment, draws
out and cuts the material into the specific
pattern for your vehicle. The film has a mild
adhesive backing that, when applied with a
specific solution, allows it to safely but
firmly adhere to the applicable surface(s).
Q: Will my paint fade
differently under the film than it does on the
rest of the car?
A:
No. Ventureshield does not include any UV
inhibitors that will make the paint fade
abnormally.
Q: How long does it take
to apply?
A:
This depends on the vehicle, and how much
surface area we are applying film to.
It also depends on
the specific material we are working with (in
the case of vehicle vinyl or other “wrap”
materials). A typical paint protection film
installation can take anywhere from 1-4 hours.
ClearBraNJ will make
the installation as convenient as possible,
offering mobile installation, the ability to
wait for your vehicle, or we can arrange
pickup/delivery.
Q: Are
there any special care instructions?
A: To
get the best appearance out of the film we
recommend regular washes and waxing.
If you should get a spot that does not come off
with normal washing, we recommend a product
called Plexus.
Q: Will I see any evidence
of the film on my painted surface(s)?
A: While the film is virtually
clear once applied, keep it in mind that
anything
installed over a factory finish will in some way
be detectable.
There may also be
slight imperfections in the film that are
unavoidable, but in almost all cases these are
undetectable unless closely scrutinized.
